We know some of you don’t live in the fundraising world like we do, so we’ve broken down the facts for you in quick, digestible nuggets of philanthropic inspiration.

Flagship Scholarships

This campus-wide fund helps close the financial gap for students and their families. These scholarships enable exceptional students from all backgrounds to experience everything UMass Amherst has to offer and achieve their full potential.

Chancellor’s Strategic Priorities Fund

Gifts to this fund accelerate transformative progress by supporting the university’s goals to ensure an excellent, accessible, and inclusive education for all students. The fund advances research and creativity for the benefit of society and increases UMass Amherst’s global impact.

Mary A. Maher Scholarship Fund

The Mary A. Maher Scholarship Fund was established in recognition of founding dean Mary A. Maher to provide a scholarship to an incoming junior or senior nursing student who has a minimum GPA of 2.0; shows initiative and self-direction; and demonstrates financial need.

Robert L. Epstein Endowed Scholarship

The Robert L. Epstein Endowed Scholarship was established by UMass Trustee Robert L. Epstein ’67 to support undergraduate students in good academic standing in the Isenberg School of Management.

Armstrong/Siadat Professorship in Materials Science

Established in 2014 by Dr. John and Mrs. Elizabeth Armstrong (both ’03 Honorary Alumni) and Dr. Barry ’77 MS, ’79 PhD and Mrs. Afsaneh Siadat, the Armstrong/Siadat Professorship in Materials Science provides support for a highly motivated, internationally recognized faculty member within the Department of Chemical Engineering at UMass Amherst’s College of Engineering.

Manning Innovation Program

The Manning Innovation Program provides strategic funding to UMass Amherst faculty conducting early-stage applied or translational research focused on life science, medical, disease-related, or other projects that improve the health and well-being of individuals or society. The overall objective is to enable the creation and development of start-up companies or to enable the commercializing of UMass intellectual property.
